ABOUT / FANCYFDE

A small team that ships.

FancyFDE is a compact team of product, AI engineering, full-stack and delivery specialists. In the AI era, the scarce resource is not a model. It is people who can turn a model into a business result.

WHY WE EXIST

We have seen too many AI projects with a successful demo and no production story. The problem is rarely the technology. It is distance: the people designing the solution are far from the business, the engineers are far from the users, and the decision-makers are far from the real constraints.

The FDE model is our answer. Engineers work next to the business, see the problem with frontline teams, build quickly, prove value with metrics, and hand capability back to the organization. “Fancy” is our commitment to craft: working is the baseline; usable is the finish line.

We are not trying to build the largest team. We are trying to make sure every project has senior people who are genuinely involved. No layers of subcontracting. No requirement translated three times before work starts. You work with the people doing the work.

PRINCIPLES

How we decide what is worth doing.

These principles matter more than methods. Methods adapt; principles do not bend under project pressure.

01

Business outcome first

Define the metric that must change before discussing models, frameworks and tools. Technology is a means, not the result.

02

Accept in the real workflow

A sandbox demo does not count. Production means real data, real users and real exceptions.

03

No black boxes

Code, architecture, prompts, evaluations and documentation are handed over. Your team should be able to understand, maintain and extend the work.

04

Clear data boundaries

Agree before work starts on what data can leave, who can access it, and how long logs are kept. Client data is not used for training by default.

05

Honest about “no”

If AI is not the best answer, or the use case is not worth the investment, we say so. Saving your budget is also delivering value.

FIT

Let’s be clear about fit.

Not every project is a fit. An honest call saves time on both sides.

We tend to be a good fit when

  • There is a concrete business problem worth 4–8 weeks of validation
  • Frontline teams will participate, not just the IT department
  • You accept metric-based outcomes, not only a feature list
  • You want to build internal capability rather than permanent dependency

Probably not a fit when

  • You only need additional developers by headcount
  • Requirements are fixed and the decision is purely lowest bid
  • There is no access to real users, data or workflows
  • You expect AI to replace an entire team immediately

THE TEAM

A compound team, not a marketplace of freelancers.

Core members work together across product strategy, AI engineering, full-stack development, design and delivery. When a project needs a specialist, we bring in someone we have validated — but accountability always stays with the core team.

Start with one concrete problem.

You do not need a complete requirements document. Bring the business goal, the current workflow and one real pain point.
